Volunteers do much of the work to keep the organization productive. They play a vital part in the fundraising, distribution and everyday activities. The assistance of the volunteers is not always seen by the public as many of the jobs are done behind the scenes and off site. Much of the upfront work on distribution day is done by volunteers. Some organize clothing and portion food. Others complete office work and other needed services.
Our Choice Pantry began in January 2005 and has proven to be very successful. Our clients have the opportunity to make choices as to the foods they can take home. This concept has been well accepted by our clients and volunteers. It has saves us hours of extra work as well as money because we do not buy what people do not eat.
